Flattering Poses for Your Clients to Use

The secret to photographing a beautiful portrait isn’t so much getting your subject to smile. Although that helps, it’s more about how the light falls on your subject. If the light is blocking the subject’s face, then the picture will have a flat, dull look and that’s not the kind of portrait you’re going to want to use. Few poses are as flattering on the female form as the classic “V” shape.

The V is a great way to showcase the elegance of the female form, and it provides a perfect balance of balance and form. It also gives a dynamic effect that looks the part of a beautiful woman. However, it isn’t the only pose that looks good for the female figure. The arms out pose is another great shape for highlighting your body and showing off your curves.

So here are some flattering poses for your clients to use.

Almost Sideways pose

The word pose is often thrown around in the photography industry as a way to describe an attractive pose, but it doesn’t have to be. The word pose means something different to the visual arts and photography than it does to dance or gymnastics. The camera is a very instrument of control. If you’re going to have control of your shot, you need to have control of the camera. While it is easier to use the camera to frame the shot, it is still possible to be in the shot by stepping out of the frame.

There are several ways that you can do this, and they all have something to offer. The Almost Sideways pose is a pose that is an upside-down version of a classic side profile pose. It was first popularized by the yoga community but is commonly used in modern fitness circles as well. This pose works for fitness and bodybuilding because it provides a great amount of tension in the abdominal and oblique muscles, which will help you build and maintain a strong core.

Completely Sideways pose

Everyone loves a good selfie, but if you’re always setting yourself up for a bad angle, you’ll be left with some pretty unflattering pictures. The Completely Sideways pose, for example, is a great way to get a flattering angle, but it’s so hard to execute, so we’re not sure why it’s so popular. You know those pictures where the subject is facing the camera, but the camera is turned so that it is looking at the opposite side of them? Well, I’m going to show you a few pictures that show how this can be done in a way that will make the subject look completely sideways (and, in effect, upside down).

Seated Pose

While it is true that photographing a person sitting still is easier, it will likely not be the best way to get the best possible pictures. Posing a person in a seated position can be quite challenging due to the limitations of a handheld camera. Whether you are a full-time professional or a hobbyist, you need to know how to pose your clients if you want to get the best shots of them. Seated poses are one of the most popular and flattering poses for clients because it gives the most flattering angle of your client’s face. For many people, this pose just might be the best for their clients.

Close Up

Life is full of moments that are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When you’re fortunate enough to capture them, they pack an emotional punch that you won’t soon forget. Whether it be a bride and groom kissing for the first time or a father and son saying their goodbyes, the memory of the moment is forever etched in your mind.

Every girl needs a close-up shot. Whether she’s smiling, huddled over a book, or just sitting in her room, the perfect photo of her face is a must for a range of reasons. We’ve all seen our favorite celebrities and models pose in the same spots, but what about the rest of us? When taking a group shot, how often do you look at the subject’s face to highlight her personality? Why not take a close-up shot of her face to show how you see her rather than how she is seen?
